FAQ :: MOODY BLUES Q:
A: I haven't been asked to participate in the new Moodies album. It is common for them to seek out different producers, never sticking with one perpetually, so I won't be surprised if I'm not asked. From what I know they haven't settled on a producer yet as of this writing (August 4th, 1997). I caught Justin's solo performance at the Supper Club in New York City this July. I thought he was fabulous. It was great to hear his solo work, variations on the songs he performs with the Moodies and songs of the Moodies rarely heard live. I had a long chat with him afterwards and sensed that a departure from performing with the Moodies does him a lot of good. I would encourage the others to venture into solo work too. Unless you're talking about "Go Now", I'm under the impression that their roots were with Mike Pinder. I, personally, would like to hear the Moodies play live more often on their current recordings. I have said elsewhere that it was them, not me, who insisted on using synths, computers and drum machines when I produced TOSOL, SLM and parts of KOTK. But hi-tech is a very seductive thing. As for yourself -- could you go back to black and white tv, no vcr's and only snail mail? You may copy this and post it on Lost Chords, but why not encourage them to come here to see many Moodies related questions answered in one space? |
